Welcome to the FAQ section of our Wildlife Rehab Facility website. Here are answers to some commonly asked questions:
Q: What is a wildlife rehab facility?
A: A wildlife rehab facility is a specialized center that provides care and treatment for injured, orphaned, or sick wildlife. The primary goal of these facilities is to rehabilitate the animals and release them back into their natural habitats.
Q: How can I contact your wildlife rehab facility?
A: You can reach us by phone at 443-599-9732 or send us an email at WillowWildlifeRehab@gmail.com. We are also available on social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram @WillowWildlifeRehab
Q: What types of animals do you treat?
A: Currently we provide care for healthy orphaned baby squirrels, opossums, bunnies, & chipmunks.
With your support, one day our goal is to be able to provide care for a wide range of healthy and injured native wildlife species, including birds, mammals, reptiles, and amphibians.
Q: Can I bring an injured animal to your facility?
A: Absolutely! If you find an injured or orphaned animal, please bring it to our facility as soon as possible. However, we recommend contacting us beforehand for guidance on how to handle the situation safely.
Q: Do you offer services for domestic animals or pets?
A: No, our facility is dedicated solely to the rehabilitation of wildlife. If you have a domestic animal or pet in need of medical attention, please contact a local veterinarian.
Q: Are you open to the public for visits?
A: Unfortunately, we are not open for general public visits. Our primary focus is providing the best care for the animals, which requires minimizing human contact and maintaining a calm and stress-free environment.
Q: How can I support your wildlife rehab facility?
A: There are several ways you can support our facility and the work we do. You can make a donation to help cover the costs of food, medical supplies, and enclosures for the animals. Q: What should I do if I find a baby animal?
A: It is common for baby animals to appear abandoned when they are actually not. Before taking any action, observe the animal from a distance to determine if it is truly orphaned or injured. If you are unsure, contact us for guidance before intervening.
Q: Can I adopt or keep a wild animal as a pet?
A: No, it is illegal and unethical to keep most wild animals as pets without the proper permits and licenses. It is important to respect the natural habitat and needs of wildlife and let them live in their appropriate environments.
Q: What happens to the animals once they are rehabilitated?
A: Once an animal has fully recovered and is deemed fit for release, we carefully select a suitable release site where the animal can thrive. Our goal is to reintroduce the animals back into their natural habitats, giving them the best chance of survival.
